MINDER/2

This PC based Environmental Monitor keeps a watchful eye on sensitive or highly-secured operations and processes.

• MINDER/2 is a cost effective way of letting you know at an early stage what the problems are. Critical changes in the environment can be communicated directly to you via a mobile phone or pager. MINDER/2 can stand alone, but has the added advantage of being able to be linked to your IBM System i, iSeries or AS/400.
• MINDER/2 can also be used for diverse functions, one such example is the monitoring of fermentation towers for correct temperatures, with the results being constantly displayed on a monitor. As a result of the use of MINDER/2, the need for staff to physically check the towers on an hourly basis, around the clock has been removed.

• MINDER/2 comprises the following:
  • PC Application Software, including stand alone paging module.
  • Acquisition Unit, accommodating twelve digital and eight analogue sensors.
  • Individual Sensors (six supplied as standard).
  • Desktop modem.
  • Cabling, installation, configuration and training.

MINDER/2 Acquisition unit

• Sensors throughout the room or area are connected to the acquisition unit, which sends the data to the PC where MINDER/2 is running. MINDER/2 collects this information and alerts can be sent out to single or multiple mobile phones or pagers. All the information can be displayed on screen in a variety of graphical formats.

• A useful feature of the product is the ability to daisy chain the digital sensors so up to 8 sensors can run from a single port. The screen display will show separate status data from each of the chained sensors.
• In an IT environment, MINDER/2 can be used to monitor an System i, iSeries or AS/400's presence or a network drive's space usage. This is achieved through the use of shared folders and mapping to the appropriate drive. Alerts can be sent out if MINDER/2 cannot detect the System i, iSeries or AS/400, or a network drive disk usage exceeds the chosen threshold.
• Sensors can be quickly put into a monitoring condition and quickly deactivated again, they can be assigned to schedules and 'put to sleep' when monitoring is not required.
• The logging function will capture data from the acquisition module to provide you with useful and potentially vital historical data.
• The software includes integrated communications programs that send out the sensor alerts. Easy to set up and change. Any number of paging services and mobile phones can be set-up. Messages can be escalated at staggered times to other mobile phone or pager users using the delay message feature. If the message does not get through, MINDER/2 will keep trying.
• Minimum requirements:
  • Pentium II PC running Windows 95/98 (32Mb RAM)
  • A telephone line. (Dedicated line is recommended)
  • Mobile Phone or Pager.
• Whilst it remains impossible to eliminate total downtime as a result of equipment damage, MINDER/2 will allow you to quickly respond to any crisis to reduce serious losses.
